Interesting happenings at the Alma Mater last weekend. My Syracuse Orangemen beat the Georgetown Hoyas 98-94 in overtime. Apparently, while blowing a 15-point lead in the second half, Syracuse fans were being berated by a small but loud group of Hoya backers. However, the sea of orange had the last laugh, and began pelting the obnoxious Hoyas with plastic bottles. This brings up two points. First, if the NBA's Malice in the Palace has taught us anything, its that throwing things in or from the stands at sporting events in an awful idea. So poor form, my fellow Cuse crazies.
Second, and perhaps more importantly, how stupid does a group of 30 have to be to antagonize 30,000 people. I thought Georgetown was a good school. I thought smart people went there. My parents are smart, they went to Georgetown. Well, these rocket scientists have let down their school. Even the Spartans at from 300wouldn't have gone up against these odds. Maybe a plastic bottle to the cranium was just what they needed. Mess with 30,000 people wearing orange, you might walk out of the Dome with a broken dome.
