One of JFLANland's favorite people, Coach Jim Boeheim, set an NCAA record tonight. Coach won his 20th game of the season, meaning that he now has more 20-win seasons than any other coach in college history. Syracuse's 87-58 blowout of the St. John's Red Storm clinched Boeheim's 31st 20-win season, breaking the tie he had with former UNC coach Dean Smith. Often overlooked in the pantheon of great coaches, Boeheim is a model of consistency. He recruits well, and has done more for the 2-3 zone than anyone ever. He won a National Championship behind Carmelo Anthony in 2003, and has been inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Boeheim is rapidly approaching 800 career wins as well.
Congrats Coach. Hopefully we add to it on Sunday.
