New Jersey Super Bowl
So the new Jets/Giants stadium has been given the 2014 Super Bowl, as voted on by the NFL owners today. This means alot to those two franchises, but might mean more the the Eagles, the Patriots, the Redskins and the Ravens. These cities will no be able to lobby for hosting their own Super Bowls. Redskins owner Dan Snyder is so adamant about getting the game in DC that there is a rumor that he is willing to build a new retractable roof stadium in the District, which might go on the sight of RFK. It would be great to have the game here, though I of course could not afford tickets.

Synder had better wait a few years before bidding for a Super Bowl so that we can forget the killer winter that you guys just had. I know that, overall, NJ can be colder but we have the snow removal system that your area just doesn't have. You folks were paralyzed for weeks!
ReplyDeleteHey, I would love for the Skins to get an enclosed stadium. It would soften them up for when they visit Big Blue in the cold.

Mets are getting some good value from reclamation project R.A. Dickey, a 35 yr old knuckleballer who shut out the Phils for 6 inning last night. He put runners on but he struck out seven. Sometimes you mine the scrap heap, you get lucky. I would prefer young talent like Strasberg, who I heard is dominating the minors. Won't be long before he come s up.

ReplyDeleteMets got another good outing from Takahashi (4-1) who shut out the Phils last night for 6 innings. Strange that they've gotten great output from both him and R.A.Dickey (both were minor league signings for little money)and they've got a 36 million dollar piece of dog meat (Oliver Perez) sitting in the bullpen.
Another bargain has been Rod Barajas, the cather that also signed a minor league deal. He's been hitting HRs and doubled in 2 last night. I hope that the rumors of him being trade bait are untrue.
We'll see hard far they can keep this going or if it's just another tease from a .500 club.
