1/4th of the Way There!

Now that we are officially 1/4 of the way through the NFL Regular Season, lets have a look at what some teams have done. Who is better than expected? Who is worse? What have we learned?

The Good:

- The Green Bay Packers have no drop-off or hangover from their Championship. Aaron Rodgers has proven that he is the best QB in the league right now. They still have a ton of weapons and a defense that makes huge plays.

- The Detroit Lions are America's new sweethearts. Who would have thought they would be 4-0? I mean, sure, they looked like they would be solid. But to be 4-0 without Nick Fairley playing? Amazing.

- Nobody circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills, even if they did take a bad loss to the Bengals. I am sure every fan up by Lake Erie would take 3-1.

- The Redskins, Titans and 49ers haven't won pretty, but they are both sitting atop fairly week divisions at 3-1.

- New England, Tampa, New Orleans, Baltimore and San Diego are predictably at the top or near the top of their divisions. Expect them to stay there.


The Bad:

- I certainly didn't see the Rams and Vikings being 0-4. I have no idea what the problem is either. The Vikings have lost 2nd Half leads in 3 of their 4 games. Some say McNabb is the problem, and he has been inconsistent. But the team also hasn't been running the ball as well, and Peterson fumbled 3 times this weekend. In St. Louis, Sam Bradford just can't seem to find a rhythm with his skill position players, and their defense needs improvement.

- The Steelers have gotten old fast, and now Big Ben is banged up. The Ravens could run away with that division.

- The Dream Team in Philly is in last place. I love it.


Special Note:

- Have we ever needed more proof of just how valuable Peyton Manning is? He is the most valuable player in the NFL, hands down. Without him, the Colts are 0-4 and have no real prospects of winning any time soon. Sure, they have been competitive in a few games, but they still are in a bad way.
