The Syracuse basketball team was blown up in the past week. It began with Jonny Flynn, Eric Devendorf and Paul Harris announcing they would declare for the draft, but would not hire agents. While losing Paul and Devo would be a huge loss, the biggest blow would be Jonny if he decided not to come back. Well, the other shoe has dropped, and Jonny Flynn will hire an agent, ending his two-year Syracuse career. While I will always be grateful that Jonny played with us, I do not understand this move, and I am bitter. Had he stayed, he would have easily been a top 5 draft pick next year. This was not the case of a guy whose stock wouldn't get higher. Maybe with Eric, who will still only be a 2nd Round pick at best. But Jonny would have been the best point guard in the country. As it is, he may be the 4th or 5th best in this draft class, including James Harden from Arizona State, Ricky Rubio from Spain and possibly Ty Lawson of UNC. But best of luck Mr. Flynn. We will miss you as we drop back down to a decent, middle of the pack bubble team. Ugh.
