NCAA 3 Up and 3 Down- 10/20/09

Who is moving up and down this week?

3 Up

1. Cincinnati- Tony Pike went down with an injury and they still beat USF. Starting out #5 in the BCS poll is a great thing. I am going to call it now though- Pitt is going to (once again) cost the Big East millions by beating the Bearcats in the last game of the year.

2. Alabama- Why are they not ranked #1? Florida has barely beaten their last two opponents, and Alabama hasn't been challenged all year.

3. BCS Busters- Boise State at #5 with no real tests left. Love their chances of getting a BCS bid. The really interesting one is TCU at #8. They still have to play Byu and at Utah in conference, both ranked. If they go undefeated, could we see a double BCS bust?

3 Down

1. Heisman Hopefuls- Again, none of the favorites looked good. Tebow did just enough to beat an ok Arkansas team. McCoy did just enough to beat an overrated Oklahoma team. Bradford is still injured. Jimmy Clausen didn't do enough to beat a "rebuilding" USC team. Tony Pike is injured. It might clear the way for Mark Ingram of Alabama to become the 2nd sophomore to win the award.

2. Virginia Tech, and the people who insist they are a good team- Paul Johnson says no to all of you that keep insisting the Hokies are the ACC best and a National Title contender. You cannot stop the triple option.

3. Ohio State- Wow. Purdue took the Buckeyes to the woodshed. Pryor has regressed, and Jim Tressel might not be able to pull any more tricks from out of that sweater vest.
